Ford Rolls Out Its First-Electric SUV Mustang Mach-E

Ford has unwrapped its first all-electric performance SUV, Mustang Mach-E promising to deliver 482 km range and 341 PS of peak power. The news has been confirmed by the American automaker in a release. The Ford Mustang Mach-E will hit the roads in both standard-range with a 75.7 kWh lithium-ion battery and an extended-range variant with 98.8 kWh battery, says the brand.

The SUV has drawn its inspiration from the muscle car for the styling and performance as well and there is a high chance that it will give stiff competition to Tesla Model Y. Ford has also confirmed that there will be a GT variant on the card which will churn out around 465 PS of peak power and 830 Nm of torque. Additionally, the Mach-E GT also has the capacity to accelerate 0-100 kmph in around 3 seconds, which will make it faster than the Porsche Macan Turbo.

Ford stated the Mach-E SUV is expected to come to the market by the end of 2020. Customers can book the car by depositing $500, informs the automaker in a release. The carmaker has confirmed that this electric SUV comes with next-generation SYNC communications and entertainment system with a 15.5-inch display.

Regarding the first electric SUV, Darren Palmer, Ford global director for battery electric vehicles, stated, “Next-generation SYNC actively starts adapting to you as soon as you start using it, quickly learning your preferences and making personalized suggestions. It can suggest going to the gym if it learns Mondays are workout days or calling home if you do that every day after work. The result is a cloud-connected assistant and interface that’s intuitive, beautiful and ready for the future thanks to fast over-the-air updates.”
